"Eyes Wide Open" :
The American Friends Service Committee (the Quakers) put up an exhibition titled 'Eyes Wide Open' at the Circle in Indianapolis the weekend of September 11, 2004. Stunning in its power and simplicity, the exhibit marks the death of each American soldier in Iraq with a pair of combat boots, tagged with their name, age, and home state. "Eyes Wide Open"

Freedom's Answer : Students at Carmel High School organized a non-partisan political rally held 4 days before the November 2004 elections. You may ask, "What is a non-partisan political rally?" They gave any candidate the opportunity to come speak to members of the public. The guest speaker was Todd Rokita, Indiana Secretary of State, who spoke about the election process and preventing election fraud. Various candidates spoke and the crowd, although small, clearly appreciated the effort that all of the candidates made to attend and participate. The day was extremely windy with low-angle sun making photography difficult.

Freedom's Answer

Memorial Day, 2005 : Veterans Healing Field(tm), a display of flags for every U.S. soldier who has given their life in Iraq and Afghanistan. Scheduled to coincide with Memorial Day, the display is a powerful message here of loss and gain.

The display was at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens and Funeral Center in Fishers, Indiana from May 1, 2005 through May 31, 2005.
